    Got visa now validating

Well after getting our visa's granted on the 25th July, 2008  - 6months 1 day after we applied online, we are now going to validate.  We've booked  a month off and we're hiring a motorhome to do a bit of sightseeing and most of all fact finding mission.

We're starting off in Adelaide, travelling along the Great Ocean Road , passing through Geelong and into Melbourne.  Catching the overnight Spirit of Tasmania ferry to Devonport, Tasmania and then driving down to Hobart.  After spending about a week there we'll catch a flight from Hobart to Melbourne and then on to London.......and I can't wait. !!!!

I had looked into accommodation for us but it was a nightmare trying to find places that could take all six of us and it actually worked out more expensive than hiring a motorhome.

After we get back we will make the ulimate decision on whether Australia is for us and if we do think it is we'll try everything in our power to make it happen, but as to when....what with the current housing climate and everything else who know's.  If we can afford it we'll rent the house out and go over, rent a house over there until things are better here, or alternatively win the lottery, rob a bank...the ideas are endless.

Take care all who read this, my next posting will be all about our trip, so brace yourselves,

    Love always,

Hi all, I'm now on bebo......
    15 June

    Med's

Med's were finalised on the 26th May, 2008 two days after our wedding anniversary.  YIPPEE!!!!!

Now we wait again, we've done everything even signed the The Australian Value Statement before it was asked for.  Apparently, immigration has reached their quota for this year which is why alot of people haven't heard anything about their's however, the good news is the immigration's new year  begins the 1st July, so there should be a flurry of new visa's being handed out and hopefully our's will be one of them.

    Cheers for now,

Well I can now report, thank god, that our med's were finally sent off  today 8/5/08.

Anyway we now have to wait for them to be finalised and hopefully, soon , get our CO or if we are lucky go straight to Visa Granted .....cor look at that pig fly !!

Will let you guys know how we do.

    Cheers,

    08 April

    Medicals done but.....

Well we finally had our medical's done on the 27th march, 2008.  Hubby ok, eldest son ok, youngest daughter ok, eldest daughter has to go back and redo urine test (female thing! highly inconventient) and see physio about her back problem.....funny thing is we saw our doctor on the 9th Jan, and yet the physio man has not received a referrel letter from him, our doc is so forgetful it's a joke.  She's now booked in to see him on the 17th April.  Have to get a report from him to say what's wrong with her etc so I can give it to the panel doctor.  Then there's youngest son, he's got protein in his urine, so had to spend a urther £60 to have a sample of his blood and urine sent to lab, now he has to see our doc for further tests, then there's me.  Ok slightly over weight but who isn't these days, still trying to burn off baby fat.  My blood pressure was up, which is not like me at all, she found it to be 170/95, apparantly it needs to be 140/90 max for the medicals.  So I had to go and see my doc about this and also she thought I had a heart murmer.  I know I'm getting old, but going through this visa lark it's enough to drive anyone insane let alone raise your blood pressure and everything else !!   So saw my doc who redid PB 145/80 borderline he said, so he's also booked me for a cholesterol test.  Now I did try and point out to him that all I needed from him was a letter confirming what my current BP reading was and whether he concured with the panel doctor that I did indeed have a heart murmer, he said I did but it was not significant, however he wants to go through all the other tests before he writes the bloody letter, god only knows how long that's going to take,, at this rate it will be next year before we get out visa's.  Anyway will keep you informed as time progresses and hopefully someone will read my rant, even ifto say ...poor cow!! lol  xx
    01 February

    Online Visa sent.

Well, we have finally sent our visa online (24/01/08), and under advice from our agent booked the medicals for 28th March, 2008 at Maidenhead, same  place as Mozzy !  Hopefully all will go well and we should, if there is a God, get our visa's sometime in September.  We have decided to go to Adelaide first, seeing as this is where we were heading in the first place until things conspired against us, and hire a campervan thingy and make our way across the Great Ocean Road, towards Melbourne and check it out as well, and depending on which one we like and have more of a chance of getting a good job for Chris will ultimately determine where will be living, so to everyone on PIA look out we might just bump into you there !!!!  You can also find me on 'Poms in Oz' under 'the terry's' so if anyone fancies a chat come and find me.  All the best to everyone who going through the immigration process, speak soon. (Just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel so head towards it, it known as Australia ! ) Island with a palm tree

    All the best peeps,

Our Move to OZ (All being well ! )

Hi, Just a little note telling you who we are, we are the Terry's, a family of six, hoping to move downunder next year (2008).
We've thought long and hard as to whether moving to OZ would be better for our family and finally we have agreed that it is looking too good an opportunity not to be missed.  Hubby Chris is a plumber by trade but he can put his hand to just about anything in the building trade, me, Helen, I do all the paperwork associated with the business, and run the family home.  We have four children, Craig 17 just finished 6th form, and looking to study at college for a year, Lee 15 last year at school and studying for his GCSE exams later next year, Maricia (pronounced Marie - sha) 13 still at school, and last but certainly not least little Jessica who will be 1 on the 19th August, 2007.
